Looking for the Ursa Major – dust prints
duo Khurtova & Bourlanges
Punt WG, 2016
earth, paper, sieve
duration 10 min
The appearing and disappearing quality of star constellations are used as an inspiration for revealing an image of the Ursa major on paper. Using a sieve, Marie Ilse spreads the earth collected on the seven locations over seven white paper prints. These repeated actions allow to reveal one-by-one each point of the constellation. Elena re-assembles the obtained fragments, composing the Ursa Major in the space of the exhibition.
