Wetter than Wet

In collaboration with Elena Khurtova & Mayra Sérgio
In-situ transient installation: raw clay, dug out by the artists over years, water
300 x 150 x 300 cm
Josilda da Conceicao gallery
In a similar approach as the previous transformative sculptures, this in-situ installation consists of one ton of recycled clay placed in the narrow space of the traditional Amsterdamse School gallery vitrine. Sérgio, Khurtova & Bourlanges carefully recreated an imaginary landscape of wet yellow mud, that gets steaming hot, filling up the glass volume with the moist present in clay. The extremely narrow space embodies a visual and atmospheric experience where smell, temperature and humidity become tangible.
